An IPL flashlight uses a beam of light from a powerful Xenon lamp with a wavelength of between 550 and 1200 nanometres and a maximum fluence of 10 J/CM2 . The energy from this beam of light is absorbed by the hair pigment and penetrates all the way to the hair follicle. The energy released destroys the hair follicle and prevents it from growing any new hairs. The hairs are only exposed to the flashlight for a fraction of a second, whereby all hairs in an area of about 12.5 CM2 are hit. This allows large areas of the body to be depilated in a short period of time, using a smaller number of flashes. The treatment is not painful and it does not have any adverse side effects.
The new Bentlon IPL has an air-cooled flashlight with a very long service life of up to 30,000 flashes. As it is air-cooled, the flashlight does not warm up, which means that you do not have to stop during treatment to allow the lamp to cool down. The operation of the Bentlon IPL is also unique. No complicated settings of joule/cm', you just enter the hair type and the skin type on the menu and the IPL sets the correct light power and flash duration itself. This is all you have to do.
But the Bentlon IPL can do a great deal more. You can change the flashlight for hair removal and fit the flashlight for active acne treatment or skin rejuvenation. Simply fit the other flashlight on the hand attachment and the digital display indicates the settings automatically.
